Wastewater Treatment Plant Generated by the Operation of the Amine Plant

Investor: NAFTNA INDUSTRIJA SRBIJE A.D. Novi Sad; NIS A.D. Novi Sad, Exploration and Production Block, Elemir, Republic of Serbia

Completed in 2018.

The operation of the Amine Plant reduces the CO2 content in the gas produced by NIS to below 3%, which is the limit prescribed by legal regulations.

During the operational work of the Amine Plant, a certain amount of wastewater is generated, which must be treated before being discharged into watercourses. For this reason, a wastewater treatment plant was built, the operation of which achieves the appropriate quality of waste water and prevents any negative impact on the environment.

The aim of the project is to treat the wastewater generated by the operation of the Amine Plant to a quality prescribed by legal regulations, allowing its discharge.

The wastewater treatment plant is designed to treat only wastewater containing amine and glycol. The basic design parameters were obtained based on laboratory analyses performed on samples of wastewater streams.
