The project involves the reconstruction, expansion, and construction of facilities within the existing complex to increase the capacity of the smelter in Bor. A phased construction is planned, divided into groups of facilities and plants – a total of 8 phases.
The project documentation is based on the basic and detailed designs provided by the investor Serbia Zijin Copper d.o.o. Bor and prepared by the foreign supplier China “NERIN” Engineering Co. Ltd., with the "know-how" for capacity expansion and increased copper production.
Project documentation has been prepared in accordance with Serbian regulations: the Conceptual Design for the Urban Plan and location conditions, which have been obtained. The Conceptual Design, the Project for the Building Permit, and approvals from the Republic Audit Commission, building permits, and the Ministry of Interior's approval for most phases (I-VII) have been completed. Construction work is underway for the phases that have secured building permits. The project-technical documentation for phase VIII is currently being prepared.
