The urea dosing system in the furnaces of steam boilers BF-9601 and BF-9602 was constructed to reduce NOx emissions from the boilers to comply with national and EU legislation. The boilers have a steam capacity of 110 t/h each. Warranty measurements showed that NOx emissions were reduced by 70% on boiler BF-9601 and by 62% on boiler BF-9602.
The system consists of a urea storage with loading and transport pumps, an additive carbamide dosing station, a compressor station to provide air for atomization in the furnaces, water dilution pump stations, and a measurement and mixing module where the ratio of water dilution and urea solution is regulated. The prepared solution is injected directly into the flue gases in the boiler furnaces using 16 injectors installed in each boiler for the purpose of this project.
The project included the implementation of appropriate software, along with the expansion of the existing DCS.
